I feel the biggest problem Major League Baseball faces in its declining popularity is the players putting balls into play. The article states that about 100 years ago there were more than twice as many hits than strikeouts in baseball. ¨There were 1.7 times as many hits as strikeouts¨. Also according to the article, last year there were nearly 3,000 more strikeouts than hits. Baseball games take a while to end too. You are sitting there for 9 innings, so when there are no hits there is no action in the game.

MLB can solve this problem by probably making the seasons shorter because it will give more rest for the players. The games won't be every other day.
